About Tamera

I’m a North Carolina native and have always loved the Hickory and Catawba County area. I even started elementary school at Granite Falls Elementary before life took me away for a while and eventually brought me back home. There’s truly no better place to live — I love the small-town friendliness, the convenience to the mountains, and the easy access to Charlotte and larger cities. It’s the best of all worlds.

I earned both my BS and MA in Psychology from Appalachian State University before spending many years as a stay-at-home mom raising my two daughters, who both attended UNC Chapel Hill. During those years, I developed a deep appreciation for home, family, and the role a house plays in people’s lives. Real estate and interior design had always been interests of mine, so becoming a Realtor five years ago felt like a natural next step.

I am an active member of the National Association of REALTORS® and have earned the Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) designation, which allows me to better serve older adults and families navigating later-in-life transitions.

Clients often tell me that I am knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely caring. I believe no question is too small and no detail is unimportant. I take pride in investing the time and effort needed to help people feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. Buying or selling a home is a big decision, and no one should feel rushed or overwhelmed.

I especially enjoy working with first-time homebuyers, retirees, downsizers, and investors. First-time buyers have a special place in my heart — I love helping them understand the process and watching their excitement when they realize homeownership is truly within reach. I also own a small business and enjoy renovating and flipping homes, which gives me an eye for potential and a deep appreciation for how a home functions both practically and aesthetically.

My goal is for every client — whether purchasing their first home, downsizing, investing, or purchasing a higher-end property — to feel informed, comfortable, and never pressured.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me hiking, working on a home project, taking a class, or spending time with family and friends.

Helping people find not just a house, but a place that truly feels like home, is what I love most about this job.
